About me

My name is Melisa, and I am a registered Art Psychotherapist and qualified EMDR Therapist with over six years of experience supporting individuals of all ages.

I aim to create a secure, confidential, and creative space where we can work collaboratively to explore your needs. Using an integrative approach, I tailor therapy to suit you, drawing on a range of therapeutic frameworks. Grounded in a trauma-informed perspective, I incorporate humanistic and psychodynamic theories to help make sense of both past and present experiences.

Life can feel overwhelming at times, with challenges such as grief, trauma, anxiety, depression, and relationship difficulties. When words feel hard to find, art-making can offer an alternative way to express yourself. You don’t need to be an artist—just open to exploring this creative process. Through colours, shapes, and forms, art can help convey thoughts and feelings that may be difficult to put into words. Together, we can integrate art and traditional therapy to better understand your inner world and support your journey towards healing and personal growth.

I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), a highly effective, evidence-based approach for processing trauma and complex trauma. EMDR can help you work through distressing memories and reduce their emotional impact, empowering you to move forward.

I offer both short- and long-term therapy, working at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

I am registered with the HCPC, a member of the British Association of Art Therapists (BAAT), fully insured, and hold an up-to-date DBS certificate.

If you feel we might work well together, I’d be happy to discuss how I can support you.
