About me

I am a qualified and experienced counsellor/psychotherapist and an Associate of Reach.  I work with The Reach Approach,  a holistic, integrative and persone specific methodology.  I see clients both face to face and online via Skype and Zoom and I offer therapy in both English and Spanish

I integrate a range of different therapeutic approaches, interventions and techniques and tailor my approach to suit your specific needs; always extending warmth, acceptance, understanding and honesty to help you find your way to recovery and peace of mind.

I work with individuals suffering from: depression, stress, anxiety, panic attacks, phobias, anger, OCD, PTSD, addiction, separation, bereavement, illness, poor self-esteem, eating disorders and those who want to better understand the meaning of their life.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have been working as a counsellor since 2005.  In 2008 I started to work with a Reach therapist to look at the issues I was struggling with in my life.  It was my experience of The Reach Approach that led me to undertake their postgraduate training and work with their unique and very effective holistic, integrative and person specific model.

Considering the person as a whole is key to this approach. I recognise that the needs of all aspects of the individual - mind, body, spirit and the environments in which he or she operates - must be met in order for the individual to realise their potential and enjoy their life fully.

I use different psychological approaches and therapeutic tools to suit the individual needs of each person, in order to help them achieve emotional wellbeing. In fact, at Reach integrative means much more than this. We believe in 'synergy'; that no single approach, remedy or technique is the answer to our problems but a combination of strategies and approaches is going to deliver the greatest fruits.

And so, I integrate not only a range of psychological models but also offer a deep understanding of other areas related to the human condition , including  diet and nutrition,  cognitive neuroscience, metaphysics, epigenetics and psychoneuroimmunology [PNI] ) - in order to leave no stone unturned in assisting the individual to find sustainable solutions.

I believe that the fundamental requirement for the counselling/therapy to work is the quality, warmth and honesty of the therapeutic relationship and therefore I always strive to create an environment in which my clients can thrive, treating each person with the respect and positivity that they deserve, regardless of their background, economic status, race, culture, religion, sexuality, etc.

I have a diploma in Integrative Therapeutic Counselling and a Reach postgraduate certificate in Holistic and Integrative Psychotherapy accredited by the National Council of Psychotherapists (NCP) and the Complementary Medical Association (CMA).

I work at a GP surgery and also have a busy private practice.

I am a registered counsellor member of the BACP and adhere to their code of ethics

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
