About me
I am an experienced and qualified psychodynamic psychotherapist and I have over the years helped patients with mild to severe depression, anxieties, relationship difficulties, abuse, lack of self-esteem, confidence and overall stress.
I have also gained experience also working with young adults/students in a university setting and therefore do welcome students in my private practice at a discounted fee.
Many people struggle to overcome painful experiences on their own, whether these relate to relationship break ups, traumatic events, or grief and a deep sense of loss. I provide confidential and caring support in a safe environment which will encourage self-exploration, awareness and insight.
I work from a psychodynamic perspective, which recognizes that current problems and emotional difficulties can be linked to earlier experiences. I can help you understand the underlying nature of your difficulties and identify with you unhelpful current patterns of thinking and behaviour. Through this and the support I provide, you will have the potential to gain a deeper understanding of yourself and your life and the ability to consider making different choices.
Some of the issues I may be able to help you with:
- General Anxiety
- Panic attacks
- Understanding and managing stress
- Understanding and managing anger
- Mild to severe Depressive states, including suicide ideations
- Compulsive behaviours, including drink and pornography addictions
- Eating disorders
- Self-destructive behaviours and self-harming
- Family issues, conflicts and crisis
- Low self-esteem and lack of confidence
- Grief and loss, including divorce, ending of relationships
I also offer the opportunity to explore the techniques of Mindfulness which can help reduce stress and anxiety as I believe that a holistic approach within counselling can encourage personal growth and help develop a general sense of well-being.

Training, qualifications & experience
I am a fully qualified psychotherapist, a professional member of The British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) and of the Foundation for Psychotherapy and Counselling (FPC).
Experience
I have been actively involved in clinical practices, working at WPF Therapy and within the counselling team at St George's University of London providing short term and long term therapy to adults, students and Young adults suffering from emotional distress due to anxiety issues and recurring patterns of behaviour and relating.
Also, I have helped patients with depressive moods and severe anxieties which sometimes involved self-harming and suicide ideations and some severe bodily dysfunctions.
In addition, I have worked for the Motor Neurone Disease Association and visited some patients, at King's College Hospital, who needed support to face their disability and sense of loss and adjust to great changes in their lives.
Although my training has been psychodynamic, I believe that some CBT tools and Mindfulness practices can be effective for people to manage and substantially reduce their high level of anxiety and stress.
Training and Qualifications
I completed my psychotherapy training at WPF Therapy in London and I am registered with The British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) and with the Foundation for Psychotherapy and Counselling (FPC).
I work within the stringent codes of ethics and practice of these organisations, which ensure that high standards of care, confidentiality and professionalism are kept at all times. I have professional insurance.
I have gained post-qualification skills in CBT and Mindfulness practice.

- Certificate in CBT skills (WPF)

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
The British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) is a professional association, representing the profession of psychoanalytic psychotherapy.
The organisation is itself made up of fourteen member organisations and BPC accredits the trainings of its member organisations. An individual who qualifies from one of these trainings is then eligible for entry into the BPC's register.
BPC registrants are governed by a code of ethics, a policy of continuing professional development, a statement on confidentiality and a complaints procedure. The BPC is a Member Society of the European Federation for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy in the Public Sector (EFPP). Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
