About me

I'm an Accredited Psychotherapeutic Counsellor and my specialist areas are stress, depression, anxiety and phobias.

Trained in Human Resources in a career spanning 28 years, I went on to train to be a therapist and have worked with clients presenting a diverse range of issues.

I offer one hour sessions and advise six face to face weekly sessions to start with, after that time we can review and decide if we need to increase or decrease the session time and frequency.

My working days are Wednesday and Friday, however there this is flexibility around this.  I work from my home address with free parking or online.

I do my best, to offer the client the space to bring their story, through skills of listening in an empathetic, genuine, and non-judgemental way, enabling the client to feel able to disclose more of themselves.  I offer a safe space to explore feelings, using different tools.

The quality of the therapeutic relationship is key in any event of the therapeutic journey and its power cannot be underestimated…. this is my philosophy.

I offer online and telephone sessions, however I do like to meet face to face periodically, during the therapy journey.

The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
