About me

My goal is to offer a safe, non-judgmental space where you can openly explore your thoughts and feelings while working collaboratively toward solutions that are right for you. I strive to meet you where you’re at, uncovering insights together in a way that feels supportive and empowering. No matter what emotions you’re experiencing, we can work together to explore, understand, and navigate them.

I'm experienced in helping people with a variety of challenges including anxiety, depression, perfectionism, burnout, family challenges, ADHD, sexuality and relationship diversity, relationship issues, grief, trauma, and life transitions.

I also work with people who aren’t sure exactly what’s bringing them to therapy, but sense that something needs to shift. They might feel stuck, want to feel more at ease with themselves, or wish for a life that feels like a better fit. Sometimes, nothing is obviously “wrong,” but there’s a sense that things could be more aligned.

I place great importance on diversity and individuality in my practice, and I strive to foster an open and welcoming space for all.

Training, qualifications & experience

Some of the issues I work with most frequently include:

Stress and anxiety
Societal pressures in our day-to-day lives can lead to anxiety and stress. In professional settings, it could present as imposter syndrome or burn-out. In your private life, it might show up as low self-esteem or perfectionism.

Anxiety doesn’t always look the same for everyone. It can manifest in ways that might feel confusing, overwhelming, or even unrelated to emotional distress. Understanding how anxiety manifests can be the first step toward finding relief.

Relationships
You might find that the same issues or patterns keep emerging in your relationships, regardless of the person involved. This could include feelings of dissatisfaction or anxiety, lack of communication, or old dynamics from childhood. Or perhaps you’re facing difficulties in meeting people or forming connections?

The patterns can be frustrating, leading to a feeling of being “stuck,” but they can also be opportunities for growth and self-reflection. Recurring issues often signal underlying needs, beliefs, or fears that haven’t been fully addressed.

Making sense of our past
There are times when, as adults, we are held back by the things we experienced in our formative years and we rely on learnt behaviours and coping mechanisms to manage our emotions. You may have forgotten or chosen to block out unhappy memories from the past but the experiences, and your childhood learnt responses, might still be playing a part in your emotional reactions and behaviour as an adult.

This could include feelings of low self-esteem, shame or lack of confidence, or the need to ‘please’ others and put their needs ahead of yours.

Sometimes we don’t make the connections between our current behaviour and how we learnt to respond to things in our childhood. Together we can explore what is going on for you and find more positive ways of responding to the challenges as your adult self.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
