About me

Life is a journey that holds many different chapters good and bad, I am here to be alongside you while we explore and share your journey together.

My name is Louise, I am a qualified Person Centred counsellor which means I am here to listen and let you take control of what you want to bring. Every client is unique and brings their own unique needs, I provide a calm safe space in my garden, where our sessions will be in a relaxing comfortable lodge which ensures calmness and privacy.

I work in a calm manner and will provide you empathy, unconditional positive regard while being congruent with you throughout our time. We will work together at your own pace whilst building a therapeutic relationship based on trust, enabling you to work through your troubles and move forward to look towards the future and who you want to become.

I believe in self-care and allowing yourself the time and space to allow that to happen. Sometimes life can get busy, and troubles can become overwhelming, I like to be able to give people the time to find themselves again, find their self-care and build back up their self-worth.

Goals: The main goal of our sessions is to help you understand yourself better and find ways to cope with your challenges. You and I will work together and create a therapeutic relationship that will allow us to explore your lifes journey.

Your role: You play a crucial role in this process. Your aim is to be open and honest about your thoughts and feelings. You can ask questions, share your worries and work with me to make progress towards your goals.

How you may feel: After our sessions you may feel tired and need some time to process what it was that was in the session. Other times you may feel relieved for having shared something that has been weighing you down, allowing you to think clearer. Every client is different and each session will create varied emotions.

What to expect in our sessions: Our session will be 50 minutes long and take place in my lodge in the garden. We sit together, at your own pace we will share what it is you want to bring. Sometimes you may want to share what is going on for you right now and other times you may go a little deeper into past experiences or feelings, there are no expectations or directions, its your space.

What to do next? If you think you'd like to work with me or if you'd just like to have an initial chat (free of charge), drop me a message and we can arrange a time that's good for you. Just click the green "Message Me" tab underneath my photo.

Counselling for Adults and Young People

I am an experienced counsellor who specialises in providing support to individuals across a wide age range, from 14 to 70 years. My expertise encompasses a diverse range of Mental Health issues, including anxiety, depression, family dynamics, feelings of isolation, low self-esteem, and self-worth. Additionally, I possess valuable experience in supporting transgender clients and individuals with borderline personality disorders.

In my work with young people, I have successfully aided those with behavioural issues and Special Educational Needs (SEN), such as Autism and ADHD. I provide them with a safe and non-judgmental space to explore their emotions and express their feelings at their own pace. Furthermore, I have worked closely with parents, offering them invaluable assistance in effectively managing the day-to-day challenges of raising children with behavioural needs.

I provide short or long term therapy in person online and via telephone calls.  This would be discussed in our initial phone conversation.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
