About me

Taking the step to seek counselling is an important choice, and I’m here to support you through the process in a genuine and straightforward way. In our sessions, I focus on creating a space where you can speak openly, knowing your thoughts and emotions will be respected. My approach is simple—listen, understand, and help you gain clarity on what you're experiencing.

We’ll explore what matters most to you, without pressure or expectation. I’m here to guide you, offering practical tools to manage challenges and build on your existing strengths. My goal is to help you feel more confident in navigating life’s ups and downs while staying true to who you are.

I use a combination of Person-Centred and Psychodynamic approaches, allowing us to explore your experiences. The Person-Centred approach creates a supportive space for you to express yourself, while the Psychodynamic model examines how past experiences influence your current thoughts and behaviours, helping to bring clarity and understanding.

Whether we meet by phone or online, my aim is to ensure you feel heard and supported as we work together. I’m here to help you better understand yourself, navigate challenges, and find a path forward that feels right for you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have completed several relevant qualifications, including the Cruse Bereavement Support Foundation course, Self-Harm and Suicide Prevention training, and Diplomas and Certificates in Therapeutic Counselling (Levels 4, 3, and 2).

With over 15 years of experience in the NHS, I’ve worked in various supportive roles across sexual health, mental health, community nursing, and safeguarding. I’ve also supported people through an employee assistance programme helpline, offering immediate help to those dealing with suicidal thoughts, as well as a range of other challenges including bereavement, trauma, assault, relationship issues, anxiety, depression, and addiction.

I’ve always believed in providing thoughtful, understanding support, and I bring this approach into my counselling practice to help clients navigate whatever they’re going through.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
