About me

In the complicated interplay of work, family history, home, news, and relationships, finding mental wellness and contentment can feel like an ongoing challenge. Opting for therapy is not just a brave and committed choice; it's a beautiful reflection of your self-awareness and a powerful commitment to your well-being. When you choose therapy, you're embracing a journey of self-understanding and development—a proactive step toward building stronger life skills and positive change in your life. Your decision speaks volumes about the strength you already have and your dedication to a better, more positive daily life.

As a Relational Therapist, I approach every interaction with a clean slate, free from assumptions or pre-judgements. Through active dialogue, my goal is to create a space where we can explore without inhibitions, enhance understanding, and bring unconscious triggers to the surface, all while developing practical emotional life skills.

I am a partner and resource, collaborating with you to manage symptoms and address sources of distress. The focus is on decoding the underlying drivers of the symptoms causing your suffering, with a crucial emphasis on identifying the origins and triggers. This process is pivotal for managing symptoms and cultivating a sense of personal control.

Together, we'll delve into your past experiences, understanding how they've shaped you and the patterns of relating to others. The aim is to equip you with fresh and practical ways of interacting in the present, fostering improved relationships and connections with others, ultimately contributing to a heightened sense of emotional and mental understanding and well-being.

Training, qualifications & experience

I'm a Registered Member MBACP-qualified psychotherapist with a broad range of experience working with individuals across diverse backgrounds in Asia, the United States, and Europe.

In addition to my work in one-on-one therapy, I've spent 26 years helping individuals within international high-performance organizations and individuals in the entertainment industry. These settings have a way of revealing both the strengths and challenges in people, sometimes bringing up childhood traumas, anxiety, or behaviours that impact self-esteem, confidence, performance, and other aspects of personal life.

My approach involves a blend of Relational and evidence-based therapies. Together, we'll gradually uncover the links between anxiety triggers in social, performative, or work settings and your early personal experiences and relationships. Throughout this process, we'll work on developing practical tools to enhance your mental well-being.

I earned a BA from McGill University in Canada, followed by an MA from Johns Hopkins University in the USA. I then pursued an MA at the University of London Goldsmiths receiving a degree with distinction in Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy. A solid combination of academics and experiences working with people of diverse backgrounds provides a solid foundation to understand the intricacies of human experience and behaviour, and I'm here to bring that into our work together.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
