About me
Hello, I'm an experienced and fully qualified counsellor helping people who are experiencing relationship problems, issues relating to childhood trauma and PTSD, managing anxiety and depression, abuse, stress and low self-esteem.
During counselling with me, I aim to take you on a journey to a new way of thinking/behaving. Improving the quality of your life by helping you deal with the issues that are impacting your life.
I will offer you a safe, non-judgemental space to explore thoughts feelings and emotions. Having had counselling myself, I understand that the supportive counselling relationship can help you discover and make meaning of the thoughts you are having.
If you have any questions or would like to book a session please call me (or text) on 07534 219175 or send me a message here.
My approach
I believe that everyone has the ability to solve their own issues working together with someone who is not emotionally involved in the situation who can bring clarity and understanding to the counselling session.
Life is never straight forward and many feel as if they are the odd one out in a perfect world. By talking, a different reality is most likely to emerge.
I conduct sessions in an open space where you will be free to talk about how you really feel instead of painting a picture of having everything together.
Therapy is a working relationship between myself as the therapist and you the client. I meet clients in a safe space and very often the first session can feel a little daunting. However this is the first important step in looking at the issues you are seeking support with. The number of sessions is dependent on the issues that you wish to discuss and my work is client-led.
By the end of our work you will have strategies, tools and techniques in place to support you long term, very often the option to talk to someone not connected to your situation personally or emotionally can bring profound results in its own right.

In 2013 the NCS register was accredited by the Professional Standards Authority under the Accredited Voluntary Register Scheme. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

I have a specialism in domestic abuse and also mental health issues as a qualified trainer with Mental First Aid England.

Further information
I have worked with all forms of abuse over the last few years and my approach is to work with you so that you start to feel more in control of your thoughts, feelings and emotions.
I also am passionate around my work in building self-esteem and confidence by reducing the anxiety that stops us from achieving small goals that can lead to the bigger goals in life.
Small steps are the way forward and with encouragement and understanding they can be achieved.
I work in a secure, safe space in Swaffham. Parking is available. My practice is on a bus route from Norwich, Dereham and Thetford.
