About me

Hello, I am able to welcome new clients to work with me online via Zoom.

I offer a warm, non-judgemental approach to counselling. I believe that counselling can be life-changing by providing a safe, confidential space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours.

I understand that seeking help for your mental health can be an incredibly difficult step to take and I am committed to supporting you along the way.

As an Integrative counsellor, I am able to draw upon several modalities of therapy. I will tailor our sessions to your needs and use the therapeutic approaches which I believe will enable you to reach your goals.

In our weekly session, my focus is to help you heal from your experiences and encourage you to move forward.

Training, qualifications & experience

Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling - achieved from the Northern Guild, a leading training centre in the North East.

I have been practicing since 2017. Prior to setting up a private practice I worked for a carers charity.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Additional information

Finding the right counsellor to work with is really important so that you get the most beneficial outcome. With that in mind, I offer my first session at a discounted rate of £30.00 for 1 hour, sessions thereafter are 50 minutes charged at £60.00. I offer 8 week blocks after our initial session for £450 (a £30 saving over time).

In the initial session, I take some time to carry out an evaluation where we will explore your needs and how you wish to progress. We will agree upon therapeutic goals as this can help you to understand your progress at different stages in the work.

Further information

I enjoy the collaborative nature of counselling, particularly working in an integrative way. This allows me to have the freedom to bring in creative methods if appropriate.
