About me

People generally look for a therpaist because they feel stuck or unable to move forward from unhelpful thoughts and behaviour patterns.  You could struggle to connect with others and maintain healthy relationships, feel like you can’t keep up with the people around you, as though everyone is doing better than you are.  Anxiety, depression or unresolved trauma may be making life feel overwhelming or may just simply feel stuck. I work with an array of emotional distress and keep up to date on training so I can provide you with the best support possible.

As an Integrative Psychotherapist and traumatologist I draw on a range of theoretical concepts such as Person Centred, psychodynamic, relational, developmental theory and am trauma and attachment focussed. this means I can adapt the way I work to best suit your needs and therapy goals. Alongside my private practice I have worked with an agency that specialises in domestic and sexual abuse and trauma. I also work with young people with special needs and emotional difficulties for the Priory Group and I regularly undertake extra training in order to continually improve my clinical skills. I also specialise in trauma and evidence based trauma therapies.

So what's next?

Please either call or email, if I am unavailable, usually because I am with other clients please do leave a message or send a text and I will get back to you as soon as possible. We can then arrange to meet for a free of charge consultation so you can decide whether I am the right therapist for you. this will also give you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about what to expect from our time together.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
