About me
Welcome to Wellbeing in Mind Psychological Therapies
Compassionate, evidence-based therapy to help you move forward
Life can sometimes feel overwhelming.
You may be struggling with anxiety, low mood, self-doubt, relationship difficulties, or the lasting impact of difficult experiences. Perhaps you're constantly overthinking, feeling emotionally exhausted, or wondering why you're finding it harder to cope than you used to.
Whatever has brought you here, you don't have to face it alone.
I offer a warm, supportive, and non-judgemental space where we can make sense of what's happening for you, understand the patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and find a way forward that feels meaningful and achievable.
Therapy isn't about "fixing" you. I believe that most emotional difficulties make sense when we understand the experiences, relationships, and circumstances that have shaped us. Together, we can develop that understanding and create lasting change.
A Warm Welcome
I'm an experienced Psychological Therapist with over 17 years of experience working within the NHS and more than 13 years specialising in psychological therapies.
I am fully qualified in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT).
However, qualifications are only one part of what I offer.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and compassionate. I don't see myself as the expert on your life; you are. My role is to help you understand your experiences, recognise your strengths, and support you in making the changes that matter most to you.
Many clients tell me that one of the most valuable aspects of therapy is having a space where they no longer need to hold everything together on their own.
Is Therapy With Me Right For You?
I often work with people who:
- Feel anxious, overwhelmed, or constantly "on alert"
- Struggle with overthinking and self-criticism
- Experience low mood, depression, or a loss of confidence
- Have been affected by traumatic or distressing life events
- Feel stuck in patterns they can't seem to change
- Are navigating relationship difficulties or life transitions
- Find it difficult to switch off, relax, or prioritise themselves
- Feel disconnected from who they used to be
- Put others' needs before their own and struggle with boundaries
- You don't need to have everything figured out before starting therapy.
Many people come to therapy simply knowing that something doesn't feel quite right and wanting support to understand why.
Why Work With Me?
Every person who comes to therapy has a unique story.
Unlike therapists who work from a single approach, I am trained in several evidence-based therapies. This allows me to tailor our work together to your individual needs rather than expecting you to fit into one particular model.
Together, we will develop an understanding of what is maintaining your difficulties and create a therapeutic approach that feels right for you.
My aim is not simply to help you feel better in the moment, but to help you develop the understanding, confidence, and skills needed to create meaningful and lasting change.
What Therapy Can Help With
Therapy can help you:
- Feel calmer and less overwhelmed
- Reduce anxiety and depression
- Build self-confidence and self-worth
- Develop healthier relationships and boundaries
- Process painful experiences from the past
- Understand yourself more deeply
- Manage difficult emotions more effectively
- Reduce self-criticism and increase self-compassion
- Feel more connected to yourself and others
- Move towards the life you want to be living
What To Expect
Starting therapy can feel like a big step.
Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another. We'll explore what's bringing you to therapy, discuss what you hope to gain from our work together, and begin to develop an understanding of your experiences.
There is no pressure to share everything immediately.
We work at a pace that feels comfortable, safe, and manageable for you.
My goal is to create an environment where you feel listened to, understood, and supported throughout the process.
Over time, therapy can help you become your own therapist, giving you the tools, insight, and confidence to navigate future challenges long after our work together has ended.
It's Okay If...
Many people worry about whether therapy is "for them."
It's okay if:
- You're nervous about starting therapy
- You don't know exactly where to begin
- You find it difficult to talk about your feelings
- You've been struggling for a long time
- You've tried therapy before and it wasn't helpful
- You feel your problems aren't "serious enough"
Therapy is not reserved for people in crisis. Sometimes it simply provides the space we need to understand ourselves and move forward with greater clarity and confidence.

BABCP also provides accreditation for CBT therapists. Additional information
We offer a free, 15 minute, no obligation phone call for you to ask any questions you may have and see if our service is appropriate to meet your needs.
Further information
We offer a range of different therapy modes.
After COVID, remote therapies such as telephone and video sessions have grown in popularity as they offer great flexibility, and for some- a more gentle introduction to therapy.
Our face to face sessions continue to be the most popular option, with some clients liking the distinction between home and therapy life. Having a face to face appointment can allow you to really switch off, remove yourself from your everyday environments, and make sure you prioritise your time for you.
Our face to face sessions are based at Health at Heart; a wellness centre in the centre of Chorley.
