About me

You are probably wondering which of these trained therapists will be the best fit for you. Choosing a therapist often raises lots of questions and concerns. That's why I offer a free half hour introductory session so that we can discuss your needs further and you can get a better idea of whether you'd like to work with me.

Someone described their experience of my therapeutic style recently as 'combines empathy and warmth with directness and a willingness to challenge'.  If this sounds like what you might be looking for, I'd love to hear from you.

I started training in 2006 and am an experienced integrative psychotherapist and counsellor. Whether over six sessions or many months, I am committed to give my clients the safety, respect, sharing of knowledge and support to make the changes they want to see in their life and relationships.

I work from my home in Farnham, Surrey, and remotely by zoom or telephone.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have both a postgraduate diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy using the Arts (Distinction) and an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling. I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the National Counselling Society (NCS), and work to their ethical guidelines.

I have worked with clients with a wide range of issues they want to explore, better understand and move beyond. These include complex trauma such as childhood abuse, addiction, relationship issues, infidelity, loss and bereavement and severe depression and anxiety .

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

NCPS
National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society (NCPS)

The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society

This Not For Profit association of counsellors and psychotherapists aim to support the counselling profession, members and training organisations.

In 2013 the NCS register was accredited by the Professional Standards Authority under the Accredited Voluntary Register Scheme. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
