About me

I started training in 2006 and am an experienced integrative psychotherapist and counsellor. I will give you the kindness, safety, respect and support to make the changes you want to see in your life.

It's hard choosing a therapist, but I offer a free half hour introductory consultation online so that you can get a better idea of whether you'd like to work with me. Go to www.katrinadunbartherapy.com for more details.

I work with individuals (£70 per session) and couples (£105 per session) from my home in Farnham, Surrey, and remotely by zoom or telephone.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have both a postgraduate diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy using the Arts (Distinction) and an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling. I also have specific training to work with couples. I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and an accredited member of the National Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (NCPS)and work to their ethical guidelines.

I have worked with clients with a wide range of issues they want to explore, better understand and move beyond. These include complex trauma such as childhood abuse, relationship issues, infidelity, loss and bereavement, depression and anxiety.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
