About me

There are many reasons why you might be here looking for a therapist. Life can be challenging and sometimes we are faced with things that are too difficult for us to manage on our own. Perhaps there is a particular issue or circumstance you are struggling with. Difficulties in your relationships might be causing distress or you find yourself repeating unhelpful patterns and behaviour. It helps to have someone alongside to provide emotional support and to talk it through with. Just having someone really listen to you and a space in which to focus on yourself can be a powerful experience.

Perhaps there is no specific issue but you are feeling unhappy or dissatisfied with your life. You might feel stuck or lost or unable to find enjoyment in anything. Maybe you feel anxious and depressed and aren’t sure why. I offer a safe, non-judgemental and confidential space in which to express and explore these feelings- a place to speak them out loud, perhaps for the first time. Working at your own pace we can start to make some sense of them and find a way through together.

Therapy can help us with challenging, confusing and painful periods of our life. It can also offer a place of personal growth and development, a way to get to know ourselves better. Together we can develop new ways of understanding and thinking about the issues you bring. We can explore what other choices and possibilities you have so that you can create change and live your life more fully.

I am a qualified counsellor and therapist working in West London. I also offer online sessions.

I work in an integrative way, meaning that I draw from a range of theories and approaches, depending on what is best suited to each individual client. This is based on a relational and psychodynamic perspective. I see therapy as a collaborative process, the foundation of which is our relationship. Picking the therapist who is right for you is important and I understand that the process can feel daunting. I offer a free 20 minute initial online consultation so we can explore what you are looking for and if we might work well together.

Training, qualifications & experience

I trained at The Minster Centre, one of Europe’s leading institutes for Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy.

I’m a  registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and abide by their code of ethics. Over the years I have worked in a range of different mental health settings providing psychotherapy and counselling services.  I now work in private practice as a therapist and counsellor with adult individuals on a short or long term basis.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
