About me

You may be feeling depressed, anxious or stressed or have lost the motivation to do the things you used to enjoy, or you may be feeling simply overwhelmed. As a fully-qualified counsellor I offer individual counselling or couples counselling where I can help you explore those thing which you are finding challenging.

Maybe anxiety or the fear of a panic attack is stopping you from living the life you want to or perhaps you have low self esteem or lack self-confidence and find yourself avoiding situations where you have to meet new people. You may find yourself getting angry and its causing family issues or getting in the way of your relationships.  Perhaps you have suffered a bereavement or the loss of relationship or are having other relationship issues.

Couples often consider relationship counselling when communication has broken down. Resentments may have built up and separation may feel inevitable. An experienced Couples Counsellor can help you both to communicate your perspective and bring the resentments into the open so they can be resolved. Improved communication can help to re-create your connection with your partner and in turn will bring greater intimacy in your relationship.

I hope to help you to identify any desire to change those things that are troubling you and help you to achieve that change by exploring your concerns and helping you to build positive coping skills.

Counselling is a safe, confidential space where you can explore these things with someone who won’t judge you but will gently challenge you.

Trained in a variety of theoretical approaches including Person Centred, Psychodynamic, Transactional Analysis and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), I draw on these depending on best fit for you and your needs.

A good relationship between client and therapist is paramount to successful therapy. You should feel safe to explore your issues in the knowledge that your therapist will treat you with respect and maintain confidentiality.

We can meet face to face, by Zoom or Teams or by telephone. Some clients like to work with a combination of these methods, depending on their lifestyle.

I hope you will find I am warm and genuine. I want you to feel you can be open and honest with me. Our first session is a chance for me to introduce myself and for us to see if we feel we can work together.

I work either face to face in Sevenoaks or Belvedere, online or by telephone.

It’s good to have the support of friends and family but sometimes our feelings can be overwhelming and we need more support. Talking with a counsellor who is impartial can help us to work through some of the confusion we feel.

Making the decision to discuss your issues with a counsellor can be a big step and one which will lead to increased self-awareness, helping you to make changes in areas of your life that no longer serve you well. I would like to take that journey with you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and continue to undertake regular further training to continue my professional development.

As well as private practice, I work for a charity in Belvedere, Kent, offering low cost counselling.

I work with clients experiencing a variety of issues, including anxiety, panic attacks, low self-esteem, depression, bereavement and loss, anger and relationship issues.

I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (MBACP).

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
