About me

On one hand life can be seen as a work in progress but perhaps you are also wondering if this is it? Are you being pulled in different directions or disturbed by anxiety and depression.  Are you looking to let go of difficult aspects of your life and find peace in your closest relationships? Do you need to focus more on yourself?

Through our counselling relationship I will work closely with you in a safe and non-judgemental space where your thoughts and feelings can be gently explored at your own pace. My hope is that our sessions will leave you feeling refreshed and with more clarity about your difficulties.

I am an integrative counsellor which means that I am able to adapt a range of counselling approaches specifically to meet your needs. I will work with you towards developing a sense of wellbeing, feeling at home with yourself and at ease with others. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and fully abide by their ethical framework.

I trained as a counsellor later in life however I bring an abundance of experience from having a working knowledge of the NHS, employment services and also supporting vulnerable adults and their carers in the health and social care system.  I have also been a volunteer counsellor for individuals at a charity which supports those affected by addiction and abuse.

I have always been passionate about helping people to value and believe in themselves again, these are some of the reasons I trained as a counsellor.

What Next?

If you are facing a challenging time at present then I appreciate it may be hard to make the next step, however this could be the beginning of a life changing journey for you.

Please email me and I will respond by email or telephone  to arrange an initial consultation. For counselling 'in person' please indicate your preferred location.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
