About me

As you read this you might be feeling unsettled, anxious or uncertain. You may be looking for help to deal with a particular problem. Perhaps you feel sad, stressed or low. Maybe you feel alone or have experienced a loss. Or you’re dealing with a change or wanting something to change. Whatever you’re facing, you don't need to do it alone. It can be hard asking for support but no-one is an island; finding the right help can make all the difference.

I provide private counselling and psychotherapy to adults and young people over 18. My relationship with my clients is always central and my approach is gentle. I'm guided by what each person wants, what works for them and the pace they want to go at.

I'm committed to helping you find a way through. I have many years' experience with groups and one-to-one, supporting clients to work with uncertainty and familiar habits; to recognise choices and to strengthen their resilience.

I've worked with clients going through many different challenges including: anxiety; panic; health problems; eating/body issues; depression; ageing; identity; bereavement; living with BPD/EUPD; stress and relationship problems. I also run workshops and courses on mindfulness, managing anxiety, eating issues, living with cancer, mental health and stress/resilience.

If you think you might like to work with me then please get in touch.

I'm currently offering sessions by video or telephone.

Training, qualifications & experience

I've done lots of therapeutic work with people with EUPD/BPD. I've also developed a therapeutic programme for people with eating issues such as binge eating and compulsive eating. I've worked with many people who've experienced bereavement, loss and trauma.

Prior to working as a counsellor I worked in for NHS Public Health, where I developed a relationships programme (which won the national GP Practice Award). Alongside my private practice, I work as a supervisor, trainer, a school counsellor and a mindfulness teacher.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
