About me

If you are struggling with anxiety, relationship problems, depression, low self-esteem, anger, shame, addiction problems and more, then you will no doubt find psychotherapy and counselling very helpful. If you are struggling with any of these problems, then I know the isolating pain they can cause, but I have seen depression turn to joy, despair into hope and self-hatred into self-love. It is very important that you feel safe and comfortable and that is why I offer a £25 first session (initial assessment), so you can see if I am the right therapist for you. If I think I am not the right therapist for you, I will point you in the right direction. Being real and honest with someone in a trustworthy setting can be a great healer.

I ask you at the start what your goals are and we agree a plan going forward. I am integrative in my approach, meaning I tailor the sessions towards you, drawing on many approaches for example Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Schema focused Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy and my own personal experience and healing.

If you are feeling anxiety, confusion, hurt, anger, shame, depression, fear or struggling with an addiction, then I suggest you are kind, gentle and loving towards yourself by taking a risk and starting the process of change.

As well as in-person counselling, I also offer counselling by Skype, Zoom, or over the phone by appointment.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have an MSc in Integrative Psychotherapy from The Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute, which is validated by Staffordshire University.

I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists (MBACP) as well as the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), and abide by their code of ethics.

I regularly attend supervision and professional training workshops as part of my own continuing professional development and personal growth.

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

UKCP
UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
