About me
I specialise in the areas of autism, and in complex trauma. I also work more broadly in general counselling. I work with clients age 18+. Many of the clients I see have been diagnosed (or misdiagnosed) with mental health conditions, before realising that they may be autistic or neurodiverse in other ways. Many are self-diagnosed or newly diagnosed with autism. Others have had traumatic experiences throughout life. Other clients come to me for a wide variety of reasons including low mood, relationship breakdowns, anxiety, low self esteem, and more.
I am a neurodivergent affirming, and trauma-informed counsellor.
Is your mental health or wellbeing holding you back, or are you finding day-to-day life or relationships with friends and family challenging? Perhaps you’re struggling to understand yourself, or things that have happened in your past? If so, then I can help. Together we can look at what has been happening, and I can support you to understand yourself and live life more fully. I can support you to grow your self-acceptance, help you to advocate for yourself, and to make positive changes that help to improve your wellbeing.

I have experience working with a wide range of adult clients in general adult counselling with issues including low self-esteem and confidence, problems with attachment and parent relationships, bereavement and loss, anxiety, low mood, depression, stress, suicidal thoughts, trauma from childhood, complex PTSD, autism, ADHD, and many more.
I work relationally, which means the way I work has a focus on the trusting connection in the counselling relationship. I integrate a range of approaches and techniques to tailor the way I work with each individual; including techniques from person-centred counselling, transactional analysis and mindfulness. I do not align with therapies which aim to mask neurodivergent traits.
I offer short and long term counselling, both in-person and online, from a private room at my home in Weston-Super-Mare.
I am a qualified, MNCPS Accredited counsellor
However you are struggling, I will offer you the empathy, care, acceptance and understanding that you deserve.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have a BSc (Hons) degree in Psychology, and an FdSc degree in Counselling. I have completed training in Transactional Analysis, and in working with neurodiverse clients and working with trauma. As well as working as a counsellor, I have worked in community welfare, NHS mental healthcare and youth work. I now run a private counselling practice.
