About me

Hi and welcome to my profile. I'm a qualified professional counsellor for adults aged 18 years and over. I aim to offer you a safe and therapeutic counselling space where you can be yourself without filtering the things you say.

When we feel judged it can stop us expressing ourselves authentically, and can prevent us from experiencing genuine connection and communication in relationships. I offer a safe space for free expression of thoughts and feelings that perhaps can't yet be expressed in other relationships.

Whatever your reasons for seeking out counselling at this point in your life, I want you to have a good experience so that you feel respected and listened to, and you can leave counselling feeling you are more in contact with yourself and your ability to implement change.

You can contact me directly and do not need a referral from a GP or other health professional.

Perhaps you are struggling with thoughts or feelings that seem to have taken root and prevent you from feeling happiness or contentment. Maybe you just want to turn off that internal dialogue that causes you to go over and over the same scenarios or to doubt yourself.

Perhaps you would like to gain a deeper understanding of how early life experiences may be impacting you in the present so that you stop falling into the same patterns in your relationships with friends, family or partners, preventing you from getting what you need to feel loved, appreciated or understood.

You are unique so I aim to work with your experiences in a way that is best suited to you. I work with a range of issues that can cause distress, as well as having a passion for working with anger, and communication issues that prevent us from getting what we need and impede relationships.

I'm a qualified counsellor on the accredited register with The National Counselling Society and I work in a person-centred way, sometimes integrating tools from other therapeutic approaches, depending on individual need.

Some of the issues I can help with:

  • Anger
  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Stress
  • Burnout
  • Self-esteem
  • Difficulties in personal relationships
  • Wellbeing

To heal and flourish we need to feel safe enough to explore ourselves and the things that trap us in feelings of shame, to be accepted without judgement, the darkness and the light.

Taking the first step:

Just get in touch to arrange a convenient time for a brief chat over the phone about the help you're looking for. I'll then let you know what session times are available.

I can offer you brief or long term therapy, depending on what you decide you need. This can be anything from 1 or 2 sessions to something more long term, for a year or more. It's entirely up to you.

Further information

How counselling can help:

Uncomfortable and distressing feelings are experienced by many of us at some point in our lives and can be a normal response to the stressors that can build up, hit us unexpectedly or be feelings that have been with us for as long as we can remember. Living with distressing feelings can be overwhelming and lonely and stop us living the life we want.

The important thing to know is, you don't need to struggle on alone. Talking therapy can help reduce the intensity of the feelings that might be overwhelming you and help you to make the changes you need to move forward.
