About me

As a queer person I know that therapy is most effective when you feel accepted and able to be fully yourself. I welcome clients from across the gender, sexuality and relationship spectrum – whether you want to work on issues related to these areas, or something else entirely.

I aim to provide an open, non-judgemental space where you be heard and understood. I’ll stay with you as you confront difficult feelings. And I’ll be here reliably and consistently as you work towards the life you want.

I have experience supporting clients through a range of difficulties, including:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Relationship challenges
  • Identity challenges, including sexuality and gender
  • Difficult family relationships
  • Loss and bereavement
  • OCD and phobias
  • Chronic health conditions
  • Support for families of people experiencing addiction

About therapy

I offer weekly sessions in person at the same time each week. I charge £55 for a 50 minute session. I am also able to offer online sessions.

Getting started

If you think you might want to see me for therapy, please contact me to book an assessment session.

The assessment session is for you to tell me why you’ve come to therapy, and what you might want to get out of it. I believe the relationship between therapist and client is really important, so it’s also an opportunity for us to get a feel for whether we'll be a good fit. I charge £55 for an initial assessment session.

I’m also able to offer a brief 15 minute phone call if you have any questions before booking an assessment. Please contact me by email if you'd like to arrange a call.

Training, qualifications & experience

I’m an integrative therapist. This means that I draw on a range of theories and techniques, including from psychodynamic psychotherapy, attachment theory, person centred therapy and CBT.

I’m a member of the BACP, a professional association for the counsellors and therapists in the UK.

I hold a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling from City and Islington College.

I’ve also undertaken additional training in Dr Isha Mackenzie-Mavinga’s Black Empathic Approach to Therapeutic Practice with BAATN (Black, African & Asian Therapy Network).

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
