About me

Thank you for reading my profile among the many others on this site. I know it can be hard to find the right therapist for your needs.

My name is Jasmer Chauhan, and I am a qualified integrative psychotherapist.

Choosing the right therapist is a crucial step in beginning a journey toward personal growth and healing. That is why I offer a free initial consultation. This will allow you an opportunity to talk about your concerns and ask any questions relating to therapy, my approach, and my practice.

Hopefully, this consultation will allow you to assess if you want to work with me before making any commitments relating to time, energy - emotional/psychological, and finances.

We are all unique in our life experiences and the way that we can manage these experiences will also be unique. Therefore, we need to look at ourselves and not focus our concerns on external factors. My commitment as your therapist is to prioritise your needs and to work collaboratively with you to address your concerns and reflect on your thoughts and emotions.

The therapy being provided is managed by utilising a client-centred approach i.e. the focus of the work is completely on my client's needs. Our work together will help you to realise your potential of dealing with your presenting issues by highlighting your emotional and psychological resilience.

The practice's convenient location and the availability of amenities like free parking and lift access remove physical barriers, making it easier for clients to attend sessions and focus on their therapeutic journey. Overall, the services that I offer are both professional and personal which highlight my values as a therapist concerning the well-being and individuality of my clients.

The practice is conveniently located with easy access from Milton Keynes, Bedford, and Northampton, in a professional business setting.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

When something in our life, or the life of a loved one, is causing stress, concern, or even harm, therapy with an experienced and qualified therapist can provide a place for you to talk in a safe and confidential space without feeling judged. This is an opportunity for you to be held and heard as an individual and not as a title or role, such as mother, wife, father, husband, partner, son, daughter, etc. I have the experience, training, and capacity to work with you regardless of your gender, ethnicity, beliefs, sexual orientation, or age.

Therapy helps us to discover why we are feeling the way we do, by identifying a way of helping ourselves to move forward. The basic premise behind the therapy is for you to be able to completely offload your worries without the fear of burdening the listener with the weight of what you may be carrying. It is my role as your therapist to help you put down your concerns and regain a sense of control relating to your thoughts and emotions. By working collaboratively together you can begin to process who you are and commence the therapeutic journey of discovering why you are feeling or behaving the way that you do.
