About me

Hello, I'm Jackie, an integrative therapeutic counsellor and coach with a background in psychology.  I offer online, telephone or face-to-face counselling/coaching sessions.  Single sessions or a series of sessions are available to suit your needs. A free 30-minute consultation is also available.

Whether you're looking to fulfil specific goals and outcomes or explore your emotional reactions to challenging events, relationships, or people, we can work together to discover the approach that best supports your unique needs.

I'm a compassionate, warm, and understanding counsellor and coach, accepting of you for who you are, without judgment, and ready to work with whatever you want to bring to our sessions.  We can sometimes be left feeling 'stuck' and unable to make sense of what is happening or needs to happen to help us feel at ease with ourselves and with others, or how to take steps to meet our goals and aspirations.  Together we'll explore how to unravel what can often feel and look quite messy.  We'll tease apart the tangles of your experiences and work to gain a deeper understanding and find meaning in what is troubling you or holding you back.  In doing so, you'll be able to consider what feels right for you should you choose to work towards making changes in your life.

I offer you a safe, calm, and comfortable space for us to work together, whether that's in person, online, or on the phone.

Face-to-face sessions can take place in Worsley M28 or Whitefield/Radcliffe M26, both with free parking.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold an Advanced Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, a Masters in Organisational Psychology including Certification in Coaching with the Association of Coaching.  This enables me to bring evidence-based theory, practice, and experience to my counselling practice and therapeutic coaching approach. I regularly engage in learning opportunities to enhance the services I provide. I bring extensive experience to working with adults from all backgrounds and all ages.  I also support individuals from the emergency services including the police and the armed forces, both serving and veterans.

The root of my therapeutic and coaching approach is person-centered which puts you at the heart of our relationship. I will not attempt to lead or direct you but will work with you to understand your concerns and needs and support you in working towards any changes or goals you may decide to undertake.

I bring extensive experience to working with adults from very different backgrounds and cultures and all age groups who experience a variety of unique challenges.  I have experience and understanding of working with clients who are neurodivergent and neurotypical.

I also support individuals from the emergency services including the police and the armed forces, both serving and veterans. from different backgrounds, with different experiences whether neurodivergent or neurotypical.

Each of us can experience challenges at any time in our lives and seeking help is the first step to finding peace and resolution. Each session is unique, just like you - we work with what is important to you and at your pace. When appropriate, I can integrate humanistic counseling with outcome-focused coaching to support our work toward any agreed objectives. I am also skilled in supporting clients to explore personality/behavioral preferences/tendencies that can impact both working and personal relationships.

I work with client who experience a variety of issues such as: low mood/elf-esteem/self-worth, lack of confidence, anxiety, overthinking, over-worrying, depression, trauma, childhood adversity, bereavement/grief/loss, relationship problems (personal, work, and family), setting boundaries (self and others), self-identity (authenticity), carer responsibilities, stress, personal and professional goals and aspirations, to name just a few.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
