About me

I am an experienced integrative counsellor and for the last 10 years I have been working with a wide variety of issues, in particular anxiety, depression, relationship problems and low self esteem.

I have extensive experience in working with those struggling with bereavement and loss, having been a counsellor and supervisor for the bereavement charity CRUSE for many years, and more recently at MIND, working with clients suffering from anxiety, depression and other related mental health problems.

Life seems to offer us challenges whatever age we are, and I believe that we can  benefit from someone listening attentively and without judgement to whatever needs to be brought.

  • How do the stories we tell ourselves hold us back and stop us from engaging with life?
  • How do they shape our styles and patterns of relating to others?

Once these hidden patterns are uncovered, they can lose their charge, and you as client can begin to have a choice of whether to keep things as they are, or to change in some way.  Emotional pain and anxiety can often stem from earlier life experiences, and I would hope that we could, within our sessions together, explore these connections and uncover the meanings they hold for you in your present situation.

As your counsellor, I hope to walk alongside you, providing a safe, supportive and non-judgemental space enabling you to find a way forward which works for you.  Besides listening, I also work creatively using dreams, images or pictures which you might care to bring so as to enable a deeper exploration of what may lie beneath the surface.

If you have any questions or would like to book a session, please call me on 07753 194244 or send me an email.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
