About me

Sometimes in life, we find ourselves feeling like we don't fit in or don't belong anywhere. There’s a sense loneliness as if we are living an invisible life amongst others like ghosts: lost and confused.

I have a personal understanding of how scary it might feel for you to reach out, to find your voice.

As a person-centred counsellor, I believe that you (the person coming to therapy) has a natural ability, resources within yourself to heal and grow. I believe that I’m not the expert, you are. I am here to help you find the answers, by walking beside you, helping you feel safe enough to gain a better understanding of yourself and what you’re going though. We’ll do this, by creating a safe, confidential space for you to process your thoughts and feelings (to find you...). My priority is for you to feel safe with me and build trust within our relationship, and that means being real with you, with no judgement.

I have gained my experience from working for the NHS with adults and young people with depression, anxiety, grief, abuse, self-harming, gender identity, as well as 11 years of experience of working with addictions and homelessness.

I welcome creativity in our sessions for those who find it easier to express themselves through art, music or maybe poetry. This is entirely up to you whatever feels safe and comfortable.

Sometimes, we become trapped in our own minds, criticised, judged by a loud voice/an inner bully that wants us to stay hidden, afraid, and alone...The self-doubt increases, self-worth diminishes...self-acceptance feels unreachable and finally self-love sounds like a myth.

We go through life trying so hard to find a sense of "normality", be like others since being ourselves has been met with rejection...Once again we feel like we're drowning. Sometimes...we need help to connect with our true self, although we might not know who that person is anymore.

If this resonates with you, then please do get in touch.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
