About me

I am an integrative child and adolescent counsellor, qualified to work with children, young people and their families, and a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists). I work with children and young people from 5-18 years old, who are facing  behavioural and emotional challenges. I  warmly welcome children and young adults who are neurodiverse, including those on the autism spectrum or with ADHD.

I specialise in addressing anxiety and stress, aggression and anger management, depression, low self-esteem, transition and socialising difficulties.

My approach is child-centred as I adopt a non-directive stance, allowing the child to lead the sessions and support their sense of autonomy. I also work in a relational and attachment-informed manner, aiming to provide a supportive environment, where the child or young person feels comfortable exploring their relational patterns and developing a sense of security. I also utilise play and other creative methods to engage children and adolescents in exploring their emotions. I extend my support to the families, offering separate sessions for parents. We can start with the initial session to explore how I can help you and your child in the best possible way. Additional sessions can be arranged based on individual needs.

Training, qualifications & experience

With over 20 years of experience, I have worked with children and their families as a primary and early years teacher, a volunteer counsellor for PLACE2BE, and in private practice.

I emphasise establishing a secure and empathetic therapeutic relationship as the foundation of my work with children and young people. As an integrative child and adolescent counsellor, I have been trained in various therapeutic models, allowing me to adapt my approach to meet each client's unique needs.

  • PG Diploma in child and adolescent counselling - TERAPIA (London).
  • MA in Creative Writing - University of Western Macedonia (Greece).
  • B.Ed. -Primary Education Studies - National University of Athens (Greece).

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
