About me
Hello, I’m Helen, an Integrative Psychotherapist based in Cumbria. I hold a Master of Arts in Integrative Psychotherapy, and with this extensive training, I am committed to supporting individuals on their path to mental health and well-being.
I am currently working with one of the leading psychiatry providers in the UK, where my contributions to mental health are recognised for their impact and effectiveness. This experience enhances my practice by keeping me at the forefront of the latest developments and best practices in the field of mental health care.
I have a specialist interest in working with trauma and autism, offering tailored therapeutic support to help individuals navigate complex emotional experiences and unique life challenges. My approach is grounded in a deep understanding of neurodiversity and trauma-informed care, ensuring a safe and empathetic environment for all clients.
Throughout my career, I have developed a passion for helping people overcome challenges and find fulfilment in their lives. My integrative approach draws from various therapeutic modalities, allowing me to personalise treatment to meet the unique needs of each client. This individualised and effective therapeutic experience is grounded in the knowledge and skills gained from my postgraduate studies.
I am a registered member of professional bodies, including the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). These affiliations ensure that I adhere to strict ethical standards and continually engage in professional development, staying up to date with the latest advancements in the field of psychotherapy.
Having worked with a diverse range of clients, I have successfully supported individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, autism, relationship issues, addiction, and personal growth challenges. My expertise and training at Master’s level equip me to address complex psychological issues with sensitivity and skill.
Creating a safe and non-judgemental space is paramount in my practice. I strive to foster an environment where clients can explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences freely. Collaboration is central to my therapeutic approach, as I work together with my clients to develop goals and strategies that promote healing, growth, and resilience.
My holistic perspective acknowledges the interconnectedness of the mind, body, and spirit. In addition to psychological factors, I consider the impact of lifestyle, relationships, and other contextual elements on mental well-being. This comprehensive approach enhances the effectiveness and depth of the therapeutic process.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
