About me

I’m trained and experienced providing person-centred counselling and cognitive behavioural therapeutic approaches.  I provide counselling sessions for young people and adults from my practice based in Southport town centre.

You may have reached a point where things feel overwhelming or you feel low or anxious and feel you may benefit from counselling to support you to find a way through.

I truly believe having the opportunity to explore more about ourselves, developing self awareness - from any age, can help us to become more able to cope with life’s challenges.

What counselling offers

Sometimes we need a separate place where we can talk through or unravel our thoughts to gain clarity or strength and counselling can provide this space.

We are all unique, facing different situations and time and space to process thoughts can be beneficial to help to gain new perspective and insight into some of the issues that you are currently experiencing.  Helping you to find your own understanding, to find useful coping strategies or a way forward.

Small steps

I understand making first steps to reach for support can feel daunting and we will take things at your own pace.  Counselling can be a really positive experience and through our sessions I aim to help you to find your own solutions, ways to cope, increased  motivation, confidence or your desired change.

Please contact me to book sessions or for more information to help to decide if I am the right counsellor for you or your young person.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
