About me

Fed up of feeling rubbish?

Would you like more joy and less stress?

To feel lighter, gain clarity, avoid burn out and daily anxiety?

Let's work together and find a way to feel more like you.

What to expect - An honest and judgement free space where you are accepted and understood. Here you can talk through anything and everything.

Adoption specific - If your life has been affected by adoption I am able to support you with this. With knowledge, experience and awareness of this diverse area you are in safe hands, please get in touch if you would like to know more. (Please note this service is only available to 18+)

Children and Young People - If you think your child or young person may be experiencing emotional difficulties or need a space to process something then counselling may be beneficial. I work in a child led way meaning that I adapt our way of working to meet the child's needs while holding boundaries to create a safe environment.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have been a qualified counsellor for 14 years, during that time I have worked with both adults and children here in the UK and internationally.

I have worked in a wide variety of settings including education, private and public sector, non-profit. This has given me a good understanding of what people are experiencing each day when coming into contact with these systems and processes.

I have provided support for children and families through with post adoption work.

I have experience of working with issues related to Adoption, Anxiety, Attachment, Burn Out, Child to Parent Abuse, Depression, Developmental Trauma, Domestic Abuse, Identity, Low Mood, Stress, Young Carers.

Some of the theories and modalities I have knowledge of which I may use in our work together are Person Centered, Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution Focussed, Transactional Analysis, Family Systems and Attachment theory.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
