About me
I understand that reaching out to talk to someone can be daunting - it takes a lot of courage. It's also the first step in making a positive change for your well-being. With this in mind, I'd like to help you untangle the troubles you're facing, without any judgement, and find a way to move forward.
I’m aware there may be many reasons why you are looking into counselling - simply being human can come with a long list of mental health challenges. For example, obsessive, anxious thinking or perfectionism can make our day-to-day life a challenge. You may struggle with low self-esteem or low self-confidence, or perhaps you're finding negative thoughts distressing - these are a few of the issues that I work with. Troubles can arise through recent life events, but also be a product of our past or experiences of trauma.
Challenges can come with work, social anxiety, family issues or affairs. You may be experiencing feelings of depression, stress or panic - and can be left feeling overwhelmed. I know how hard it can be to try and cope on your own - counselling can provide a space to make sense of everything. Loneliness or feeling sad can sometimes make us feel that we are not worthy of seeking help - but I can assure you that every single one of us is.
As I'm trained in integrative counselling, I've worked with a wide range of issues and clients. Some of my experience has been with neurodiversity, such as clients recently diagnosed with ADHD or autism. Using my integrative 'toolkit', I tailor each session to the client, calling upon different types of therapy, including person-centred, existential, cognitive and psychodynamic.
I always work with the clients best interests in mind, and will provide a safe, welcoming space to allow you the freedom to explore what you find troubling. Ultimately, I aim to support and empower you to help you find meaning and a path to positive change.
Sessions are 50 minutes long and usually every week. We can start by discussing what is currently troubling you, what you’d like to get out of therapy or any goals you may have. I usually arrange a 20 minute call at first, to get to know a bit more about you. The length of therapy can vary depending on the type of issues raised. Some range between 6-12 sessions, while others can be more long term - 6 months to 1+ years.
I appreciate you may feel anxious about starting therapy, the first session can seem daunting. You may worry you don’t know what to say or how to ‘do therapy’ - this is completely normal. We can start by exploring what brought you to therapy in the first place and then gradually explore what else comes up for you, at a pace that feels comfortable. I will explain the confidentiality of our sessions and any other practicalities that you may need to know. We can agree on a regular time to meet, with the understanding that we can always adjust it in the future if needed.
As we start therapy together, remember - there is no wrong way to do it - just bring yourself.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
