About me

I am a certified counsellor in the Ashford, Kent area and a member of the National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society. I am fully insured and registered with the ICO.

I have experience working within counselling services provided by well-known charitable organisations such as Mind and Kent Association for the Blind.

Who I work with

I work with adults of all ages and enjoy the variation that comes with this; although clients that seek my help are generally younger adults, particularly women aged 18-35. People often see me for problems such as anxiety, lack of self-confidence, loneliness or if they feel they've lost a sense of direction or meaning in life. Relationship problems and adjustments that come with long-term health condition(s) are also common reasons that bring people to my counselling practice.

I offer both short-term and long-term therapy depending on your individual situation.

I am passionate about making counselling accessible, even if you work long days, shifts, or have a demanding home life to juggle. For this reason, I offer remote sessions during the day, and in-person sessions on weekday evenings or weekend mornings.

How I work

I am an Integrative Therapeutic Counsellor. This means that I use a combination of skills and theoretical perspectives. The main theories I refer to in my practice are termed 'Person-Centred', 'Transactional Analysis' and 'Psychodynamic'. This broadens my understanding of people and allows me to adapt my way of working with clients to suit their individuality.

Generally the first few sessions will allow time for you to share your story. This also affords me the opportunity to get to know you before we decide how we're going to work together. I aim to provide a safe space and a friendly face (excuse the rhyme) so that you feel comfortable during our time together. Counselling can be challenging, and so I believe that our relationship as counsellor and client needs to be well established - that way we can be open and honest with each other without worrying about judgement.
