About me

Hello and a warm welcome.

Are you currently struggling or finding life difficult? feeling anxious or overwhelmed with your thoughts or feelings?
Maybe you are grieving having lost a loved one? Or wanting to find a solution to past or present difficulties?
Perhaps you have a specific goal, or not sure why you feel the way you do, leaving you feeling stuck and unsure how to move forward?

I can help you to make sense of whatever you are experiencing. If you are still reading my profile that suggests that something resonates with you, perhaps you are feeling unhappy with something in your life, and you feel counselling may be helpful?

counselling can offer you a safe space to talk through your feelings. It can help you to find solutions and find a way to move forward, or help you to learn new ways of coping with life’s challenges.

I understand, that taking the first step in reaching out and asking for help, can be very daunting and takes a lot of courage.  It can feel overwhelming  trying to choose a counsellor from so many profiles. I have also had my own personal counselling in the past and sat in the clients chair, so I know what it can feel like in taking that first step and making a decision to start counselling.

Therefore, my aim is to make you feel at ease. I offer a free no obligation, 15 minute initial telephone consultation, where you are able to tell me what you would like to explore, ask any questions, and get a sense if you would feel comfortable working with me. I am able to offer short or long term counselling, with either weekly or fortnightly sessions,  to suit your individual needs or circumstances, which can be reviewed at any point during your counselling.

please note  I will always reply to emails within 24hours, if you have not had a reply within this time, please check your junk/spam folder

About the way I work

I am a Warm, genuine, empathic Counsellor, working from a Person Centred approach. Which means that you the client are always at the heart of what I do.

Sessions are always led by whatever you wish to explore,  as I believe it is you who knows best what is important and has meaning for you, I also believe that you hold the answers within yourself.

Therefore,  My aim is to work with you, supporting you as you explore and understand your difficulties at your own pace.  empowering you in using your own inner resources, in finding the right solutions for you, in moving forward towards the self healing or change that you seek.

I will offer you a calm, confidential and  safe space, where I will listen to you without judgement or bias, in the hope you will feel heard, understood, valued and accepted for who you are, and whatever you bring to the sessions.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
