About me

Hello, my name is George a Person Centred counsellor with a focus on exploration and self-help.

I am situated in County House in the centre of Worcester.

I primarily work within the Person Centred method due to it's core belief that we as individuals have the resilience and capacity to grow whatever our situation. By providing a space where a person can safely explore difficulties and challenges we improve the quality of the growth a person can achieve while also helping to leave things behind that either do not belong to us or are no longer helpful.

Ultimately this means that as the client you decide what it is we will be talking about each session whether it is recent, historic, a challenge or a victory. I will be there to join you in that exploration without judgement or trying to "fix it".

Together we will create a space where you will be free to look at whatever you choose.

Background wise I have over a decade's worth of experience working with the homeless as well as providing support and guidance through all of the issues that members of this group may have to face as a result of this.

My experience working with this group over the years has really shown me the value of finding sustainable solutions to one's own problems as well as how with proper support any of us can correct the direction our lives are taking.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
