About me

Hi and welcome

I am an Integrative Psychotherapist and Counsellor qualified at Post Graduate level and registered with the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP). I also have Psychology Degree accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS). I work with adults, 18+.

As a Integrative Counsellor with a psychology and wellbeing background I have a wide perspective on health and wellbeing and value diversity and you as an individual. I will work to understand your unique way of experiencing the world and adapt to the different types of issues you bring to counselling using different approaches. I work face to face and also online and offer short and long term therapy. I provide an environment which is supportive, valuing, safe and confidential for you to talk about what you are finding difficult.

Together we would explore what was most important to you.  My aim to help you make sense of issues and potentially explore different perspectives as well as empower you to build on your strengths or build new ones. My efforts will be to support you so you can begin to feel a sense of clarity, stability and growth.

Its a big decision to embark on counselling and one that I have taken myself which I have found of huge benefit. I am passionate about supporting others, so please feel free to reach out, you have taken the first step! Email info@moonstone-counselling.co.uk or call 07946825129.

I have also worked with adult offenders, many of which had significant health and social needs supporting with re-settlement after leaving prison. Plus, as an advocate with youth offenders supporting vulnerable young people often with complex behavioural issues. In addition, my work has extended to working with individuals who have physical and mental disabilities through the process of claiming benefits and as a counsellor within the charity sector.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
