About me

Are you feeling overwhelmed, anxious or depressed? Are you grappling with difficult questions and feeling as though you don’t know who to talk to? Do you want to understand your feelings and find a way through your stress?

Sometimes it helps to talk to someone outside the situation. As a counsellor, I’ll reflect and offer challenge in a gentle way, I'll help you to see different perspectives. I can support you with confusing subjects such as identity, shame or grief; you will find the space to flourish and make real change.

I’ve worked in the mental health field for 12 years, walking alongside people with a wide range of mental health problems. With a background in medicine and personal experience of recovery, I offer a different perspective and a passion for ensuring you feel really heard and fully understood.

Awarded Best Therapeutic Counsellor, South East 2023 by Global Health and Pharma.

Please get in touch by clicking the "email me" button above, to organise a free initial consultation; at this point we'll talk about what you'd like to get out of counselling and whether I’d be the right fit for you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Other areas of counselling I deal with

I'm a specialist in counselling neurodivergent individuals and their family members. I support people through their entire journey (no diagnosis needed).

Do you get easily overwhelmed? Have you spent most of your life feeling as though you don't fit in? Do you struggle with relationships, emotional regulation and wonder why other people don't understand? Maybe you're neurodivergent but haven't considered this yet?

You may or may not be looking for a diagnosis but I can help you navigate issues such as work stress, emotion regulation, sexuality, gender identity and expression, relationships or burn out.

Perhaps you're newly diagnosed autistic, ADHD or Tourette's and this is bringing with it a multitude of questions about who you are and what this means for you life. I can help you through this confusing time.

I also work with people touched by neurodiversity in other ways; perhaps you have a child or sibling with autism or ADHD and this is putting strain on your relationship. I can offer you a non-judgmental space to express frustrations and the time you need to look after yourself.
