About me

Hello and Welcome, my name is Fiona and my private practice is based on the Wrexham/Chester border. I am a Relational Integrative Counsellor, a registered member of the BACP and hold a Masters Degree in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy.

I believe everyone experiences times in their lives when emotions and feelings can become overwhelming, leaving us feeling distressed, confused and stuck. Our work together will be built upon the creation of a safe, warm, non-judgemental space where we can begin to explore what has brought you to counselling. Together, we will find the best ways to help, and ease the feeling of distress.

I currently offer counselling in a number of ways:

  • We can work face to face, meeting in person. This could be considered the traditional way therapy takes place. You would come to me and together we would meet in my private room and talk.
  • I also offer, face to face in an outdoor space - this is often called 'Walk and Talk' or 'Ecotherapy'. Here we use nature as a beneficial wellbeing resource and by walking/sitting side by side the therapy can feel less intense.
  • I am able offer counselling where we meet in a virtual meeting room. This enables counselling to be accessible to those who need/prefer to stay in their chosen location - this could be for a variety of reasons, for example: work/time commitments, geographically closeness or social anxiety.
  • Final, I offer a blended service. Meaning that we can mix up the way we see each other to suit the need at the time. An example of this would be Ecotherapy along side virtual meeting, or we begin our work indoors face to face then move to Ecotherapy.

In essence, I offer a flexible service that adapts to your individual needs.

My work is rooted in Person-centred ideology with the addition of Psychodynamic principles informing my practice. We focus on you as a unique individual, looking at present difficulties often under the context of your early year experience.

Please get in touch to have an informal chat about how we could work together.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
