About me

I am a  qualified Counsellor, and avid advocate of emotional and psychological wellbeing. My approach to sessions is a relaxed and caring style supports  you, to understand  your thoughts and feelings. I work with a series of issues including anxiety, bullying, bereavement, confidence, depression, self-esteem and relationship difficulties.

Helping you to develop a set of tools to enhance your quality of life and self-worth, allowing you to deal with future events, and giving you better insight.

I work with Adults, Adolescents, and Children, face to face in Witham Essex.

My core approach to therapy is person-centred. This style of counselling is relaxed and puts you, the client, at the heart of the process and lets you set your own speed. This allows you to feel more at ease by setting it at a pace you are comfortable with. The therapeutic relationship is based on confidentiality and mutual respect in the sessions. I will provide you with a warm, welcoming and non-judgmental space to explore difficult beliefs that may, at times, be extremely painful.

The emphasis of my work is to provide a safe space, allowing you to talk about all issues, be they historical or current, which may be affecting the way in which you carry out your everyday lives. This may cause stress, anxiety and fixed patterns of thought. Having counselling can enable you to make small changes and for these changes to build into positive changes, allowing for progression.

To make the first step contact myself via email, phone or text on 07880 613282. We can then set up an initial session, where we can discuss what you would like to get from counselling. If after the initial appointment you wish to continue we can book further appointments. Working together at a pace/time that will work for yourself.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
