About me

I can offer counselling to adults, couples and young people in a safe, comfortable and confidential environment in a residential area with plenty of free parking. This will give you the opportunity to talk through any issues that may be impacting on your personal or professional life.

If you find it difficult to leave your home, live in a rural area or have any mobility problems I can offer session via Skype.

As a Humanistic Counsellor I use a variety of techniques such, as Person Centered Counselling which allows us to work together as 2 equals only dealing with what you are comfortable exploring; this is helpful for general dissatisfaction with life, difficulties coming to term with painful past events, relationship difficulties, bereavement or illness.

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy which helps you change the way you think and the way you behave it focuses on the "here and now" it is helpful for; anxiety, anger issues, depression, stress and phobias.

Psychodynamic Counselling the aim of which is to help you bring to the surface your true feelings, it is helpful for, dealing with problems from the past.

We will follow a simple 7 stage model which can be done short term (6 sessions) medium term (12-20 sessions) or long term (more than 20 sessions)

I believe that the counselling relationship is built on trust and equality and I am looking forward to hearing from you. I can offer appointments day time or evenings

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
