Counselling and Psychotherapy in Hale, Altrincham. Diane offers both face-to-face sessions and online therapy via Zoom.

Diane Swaine is a qualified, trusted and caring Psychotherapist and Counsellor who is passionate about helping people deal with a variety of issues.

She has spent over 25 years counselling her clients through the challenges presented by problems such as high anxiety and low self esteem. The most important part of her work is helping people to find and address the root causes of these issues, something that her warm and authentic approach lends itself to naturally.

Diane is committed to confidentiality and places the safeguarding and wellbeing of her clients above all else. Full clearance on enhanced DBS.

Diane takes an integrative approach to her work, using a combination of psychotherapy, counselling and CBT to give her clients the best possible outcome. Diane believes that a holistic approach to therapy has the greatest success for the clients.

In 2016, Diane was awarded the QAVS (Queens Award for Voluntary Services)

Diane has extensive training in management, mental health and social welfare.

She considers her absolute commitment to confidentiality boundaries and client care to be just as important as any of her accreditations, if not more so.

Diane worked at The Priory Hospital for many years, where she was involved in the development of services for the treatment and assessment of patients. These patients presented with a range of conditions such as anxiety, depression and addiction. Diane also helped run a social welfare charity for many years where she was instrumental in counselling families and implementing infrastructures to help maintain their physical and mental wellbeing.

Diane also provides services to schools to run workshops for students to help with issues surrounding Social Media, such as anxiety, body issues and unrealistic expectations of oneself.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
