About me

My name is Denise John, I am a person-centred counsellor.  I have a passion for helping people to overcome deep-rooted issues in a caring, supportive and approachable manner. I counsel people with anxiety and depression but I also excel in several other areas which affect mental health.

You can call me on 07380 237938 or e-mail me at eloquenceofmind@gmail.com to a arrange a chat. I will ask you a little about what is troubling you and what you would like to gain from counselling sessions.  If you are happy to proceed you can book sessions at times to suit you either weekly or fortnightly.

You may be unsure why you feel so troubled in the first place. Working together will enable you to identify why you feel the way you do and comprehend the reasoning behind those feelings. Working at your pace to enable you to recognise those painful thoughts, feelings and emotions which may be holding you back.

By talking to me you will develop a deep trusting, psychological relationship which will enable you to explore your difficulties in a meaningful, supportive, and professional manner. You will also feel that you have been heard and really understood in a non-judgmental way, possibility for the first time in your life.

Thus increasing your resilience and self-esteem to be able to face your problems with a greater level of self-confidence. Ultimately empowering you to move forward with your life in a happier, healthier, and more contented manner.

What my clients have said about their counselling experience.

“I can’t believe what an enormous difference counselling has made to my life. I feel like I now know where my future lies. I was always led by others in the past but I now feel that I am in control.”

“I found it so easy to talk to you about my innermost feelings. I was in a very dark place before I came for counselling. You helped my to see that I could find a better place and you gave me the tools that I needed to begin to move forward on my own,”

“I was very nervous before my first session but you quickly put me at my ease. I was able to tell you things that I have never spoken of before. I will be forever grateful for the help and support you have given me.”

My experience

I specialise in working with people who are suffering from anxiety and depression, helping clients to understand their own deep-rooted issues and why they feel the way they do.

Another of my areas of strength has been working with clients experiencing bereavement. If you feel helpless and hopeless, I can help you identify where your issues lie enabling you to gain the strength you need to move forward at your own pace.

I also have sound experience in Family issues, trauma, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) Discussing these issues with me will enable you to understand yourself better.
