About me

I’m glad you have found your way here, it’s your first step towards feeling better.

I can offer you support when life feels difficult and heavy. Perhaps you have experienced a bereavement, or are haunted by past experiences, feeling sad, low and lost. Maybe relationships are proving difficult and you want to explore the reasons for this.

We can work together to help you find a way through and feel better.  My room is a calm environment where we can talk and explore your thoughts and feelings.  I'm qualified and a member of the BACP so you can have confidence in my abilities but also, I am easy to talk to, kind and encouraging.

I work with clients who have suffered loss, anger, anxiety, depression or stress. Some of my clients are trying to work out their identity,  whether this is their gender or sexuality. For some the pressure to succeed at work and socially has become overwhelming. I also support clients who feel that they are being left behind when their peers seem to have it all sorted. It's hard when you aren't sure what your next move should be and anxiety stops you in your tracks. I have training in helping clients deal with trauma too. You may a have recent diagnosis for adhd and are struggling to come to terms with what this means for past experiences but also for your future.

There is a definite benefit in taking the opportunity to talk about these things in a safe, kind and non-judgemental environment. I will always work at your pace and explore your feelings with care and kindness.  If you would like to book a session please get in touch.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
