About me

I am an integrative counsellor specialising in Couple's Counselling, Relationships, Trauma, Abuse and Narcissism and Anxiety and Bereavement.

Why Counselling?

There are times in all our lives when we feel we have lost our way, we need a listening ear or we simply want somebody to work together with to help us reach the next step in our journey, whatever that may be. Maybe that sounds like you and you're looking for someone to help you take that first step, or maybe you simply want somebody to share your concerns with, in a safe space and really feel heard. My focus is to help individuals heal, energise, and become aware of their inner strengths. I achieve this by providing a neutral safe space, listening to your concerns, and customising a treatment plan.

How can I help?

Whilst many counselling services are restricted to one style of therapy, as an integrated counsellor, I offer an holistic service which incorporates a variety of techniques and modalities, uniquely combined to match your presenting issues. Of course, counselling is a collaborative process, but this time is all about you and you will have complete control.

Taking that first step

To arrange your initial consultation please contact me by phone, email or via my website.  This introductory session is a way for us to get to know each other, exchange a few details and discuss what you hope to achieve from the counselling process.  If you are then happy to continue we can book your next session which will continue on a weekly or fortnightly basis.

The Journey

I always see the counselling process as a journey that we will take together. We can go at your own pace, one step at a time or we may wish to take greater strides. And on the odd occasion we can even take a step backwards. However we travel, you can be assured that I will be there for you, as your counsellor, throughout the entire journey.

Training, qualifications & experience

Training and Qualifications

I am a fully qualified and NCS accredited psychotherapeutic counsellor and mentor, trained to Level 5 Professional standards. I have also gained extra training and certification to work online and by phone.

Professional Status and Ethics

I am subject to the National Counselling Society's regular monitoring of my professional qualifications, continual professional development, insurance and professional body membership, in addition to complying with their ethical framework and professional standards.

Experience

I have worked in private practice for 4 years.  My primary focus is relationship counselling including Couples Counselling, communication issues and abuse.  I am also vastly experienced in counselling both adults and adolescents in areas such as depression, anxiety, counselling for suicidal feelings, for bereavement and loss, loneliness, difficulty with relationships, family issues, self- esteem and confidence issues, anger management, stress, alcohol and substance abuse, physical, emotional and narcissistic abuse, eating disorders, O.C.D and many other issues.

Methods and Style of Counselling
