About me

If you haven't had therapy before or you are returning to it, I understand that it can be anxiety provoking. And as a therapist, I believe that Building up a good relationship with you is important to ensure you feel you have a safe, secure place to explore what you want to work on. I will provide you with the space to be heard and understood, without judgement. From there, we will work at your own pace to find long lasting solutions to improving your life.

My Main therapy approach is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), However I have been able to successfully utilise other aspects from other approaches such as Person Centred, Mindfulness, and Transaction Analysis in order to tailor therapy to clients. CBT Therapy can help you explore and understand difficult feelings, circumstances or relationships in your life that are causing you distress. With compassion and support from me, the aim is to help you learn new coping strategies to help you start to move forward, enjoy life, and improve your overall mental health.

I have experience in working with adults and young people with issues such as, Depression, Low self esteem, Self harm, Suicidal feelings, Bereavement, Relationship issues, Domestic abuse, Excessive worry, stress management -work related issues, Poor sleep, Anxiety, Anxiety disorders such as phobias and OCD, Anger, and Identity.

How the sessions work

Fees are £45.00 - 50.00 per hour

#Sessions are phone, online via teams#

Or I can do home visits depending on postcode (home visit session prices may vary due to distance)

The first initial appointment is a free phone call so we can have a chat about your current situation, your background, what you want help with, or what changes you would like to see in your life.

This information will help me to understand you and your circumstances and will also give you the opportunity to see if I'm the right therapist for you. If you feel that I'm not the right therapist, then that's also fine, there is no obligation to begin therapy.

If you decide to go ahead with therapy, we can arrange a time slot for your first session. At the start of session one, the initial assessment, I will discuss contracting with you. This part of the process outlines confidentiality, the limits of confidentiality, and my membership with the British Association for Counselling Psychotherapists (BACP). I will also discuss how I can help you move forward by explaining how I work as a therapist.

Any questions, please feel free to message or email.

Training, qualifications & experience

Registered Member MBACP

-FdSc Counselling and Psychotherapy: CBT - Warwickshire College University Centre.

-CPCAB In Counselling skills L3- Nuneaton College

-CPCAB In Counselling skills L2- Nuneaton College

I have a vast experience in helping young adults, to adults to older adults within my private practice and NHS organizations with issues such as loss, anxiety, Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), depression, low self esteem, hopelessness, self harm, and suicidal thoughts.

I have also worked within a Domestic abuse organisation helping people (both males and females) who have experienced domestic abuse. When working with individuals of domestic abuse I have helped them to be able to rebuild their sense of self esteem and confidence in themselves, which may have been affected due to their experience of domestic abuse.

As a current registered member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) I maintain my practice by working within the standards set within their code of ethics which includes supervision on a regular basis.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
