About me

It may feel daunting trying to find the right therapist, who really understands you, but as the ancient Chinese philosopher, Lao Tazu, said: “the journey of a thousand miles begins with one step”.

Welcome. Perhaps you feel this is the right time to invest in your own wellbeing.

Are you feeling stuck in your romantic relationship? Are you stuck in the same patterns? Are you struggling to be a parent? Are you feeling lonely? Disconnected from others? Are you experiencing anxiety and feeling low?

I am here to work with you to explore the meaning of all this.

In my professional history, I have worked with young children, adolescents, and families, servicing a diverse range of individuals, communities, and organisations. I have previously delivered therapeutic support to foster and adoptive families and have worked with the NHS, University of Hertfordshire, CARIS Bereavement Service, and various charities across the UK.
I have worked with clients from different backgrounds, presenting with a variety of issues, including attachment, low self-esteem, anxiety and depression, loss and bereavement, relationship or family issues, traumatic experiences, life-stage crisis, panic attacks, sexual abuse, sexuality and personality disorders.

About my therapy practice.

I offer both long and short-term therapy either via Zoom or in person from my consulting rooms in Finchley Central and High Barnet, North London.

My style is psychodynamic relational, which means that I focus on your unconscious to understand together, how past experiences have influenced you and how this is manifesting in your current behaviour.  Therapy can be challenging, but also rewarding, as it can lead you to discover things about yourself that you may not be aware of.

I will engage with you in the therapeutic journey. Together we will explore what makes you feel the way you do and what you would like to bring in our sessions to change things.

What to expect in your first session.

I offer you a personal, comfortable and safe environment. Whatever your gender, religion, cultural background, sexuality, age, I am here to meet YOU.
I provide a free 30-minute initial phone consultation, which provides you the space to tell me about your concerns and personal circumstances and ask any questions. Together, we will see if I am the right person to help you.
Following this, we will meet for a full consultation meeting where we will discuss an agreement to meet at the same time, each week for 50 minutes either in person or using an online platform.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
