About me

The psychotherapy I offer is integrative transpersonal, meaning I flex my style according to your individual needs, getting the best results for you in the shortest time period.

I completed my five-year training at the reputable CCPE in London which included a psychiatric placement as well as humanistic, psychodynamic, existential and gestalt work. As a result I feel comfortable working with many issues including addiction, ASD, ADHD, trauma and personality disorders.

The training I undertook was transpersonal, which means 'beyond the person'. This is the idea that the root of our suffering is often in our core conditioning, and as such therapy that focuses purely on our thoughts and behaviours can never provide us with all the answers we need. In this way I work to address the cause of anxiety and depression rather than just the symptoms alone, leading to genuine and lasting change and a deep sense of wellbeing and meaning in life.

I take a very practical approach and know how important it is for you to see results from your investment in therapy. I will let you know after our first session what I feel would be the best route forwards for you and the areas we might want to work on together. This is done with gentleness and compassion. I know from my own experience of therapy how unsteady and sometimes frightening the journey of self-exploration can feel. We move at your own pace but in the best direction to see results for you.

Training, qualifications & experience

My PG diploma in integrative transpersonal psychotherapy (UKCP/BACP accredited) included humanistic, psychodynamic and psychiatric training, as well as working with trauma, the inner child, Jung's shadow, existential psychology and facilitating spiritual growth.

As a reiki practitioner I am familiar with the mind-body connection and how our physical and mental health are so keenly linked. My training at the CCPE included working gently with the body to encourage the release of challenging emotions and helping find ways to express that for which there are no words. This can be helpful for people who sometimes struggle to know 'what to say', and I may also use art therapy, visualisations or dream exploration to help unlock what might need to be expressed.

I have experience working within the NHS and organisations including Sobell House Bereavement Service, The Listening Centre and The Maytree.

I also run workshops, write articles and books on mental health and work as a reiki practitioner. For more information on any of this please visit my website.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
