About me

My name is Clare and I am a qualified counsellor and registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP).  I work from Faversham and Sittingbourne, Kent.  I also offer online counselling, should this be more suitable.

I understand that sometimes life can be overwhelming and it is difficult to see a way forward. We can all have times like these.  I offer a safe, non-judgmental space where we can explore together what it is that has prompted you to seek counselling.

How can counselling help?

I am a Humanistic Person Centered Counsellor, which means that I place my clients at the very heart of all work we do; this process is about helping you to move forward through difficulties and challenges and to achieve your goals. My role as your counsellor is to facilitate your journey and to help you explore your thoughts and feelings.

What can I expect in my first session?

Your first session will include an assessment, this helps me gain more information about you and your life and how counselling can help you to move forward.  If we agree that we are able to work together and I am able to help you, I am then able to offer both short or long term therapy and we will review our work together on a regular basis to ensure that you are comfortable with how your sessions are progressing and to keep within the ethical framework that I work to.

If you have any questions or would like to know a little bit more about me or the work we might do together, please feel free to get in touch

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
