About me
Welcome to my information page. I hope you find it useful as you seek to make this significant decision of finding help and counselling.
We all have times in our lives when we may feel overwhelmed and stuck. Counselling offers an opportunity to have a safe place in which to talk through and explore these thoughts, feelings, and challenges, in a confidential and safe setting.
In light of this, and my person centred approach as a counsellor, I would trust and value you, in my accompanying and counselling you on your own unique journey towards finding a way forward, into a more peaceful and settled place. I would offer you, and all you bring to the sessions, acceptance, understanding and authenticity, in a respectful and non judgemental environment.
Having worked with people for forty five years, I draw on this wealth of experience, and learning, to help me specifically tailor what I offer to each person.
I work with many types of issues and challenges, including depression, loss, abuse, relationship difficulties and general anxiety and uncertainty.
I also have a interest in spirituality, and am willing and able to work with these aspects of life, but only if you decided you wanted to explore these areas.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have been working as a counsellor for over twenty years, and have also taught counselling diplomas at post graduate level; I also supervise counsellors.
I am both registered and accredited with my professional association.
Prior to working in counselling, and also alongside and including working in counselling, I was a social worker, and also a pastoral worker, for a number of years
I have social work, pastoral work, and counselling qualifications.

Member organisations
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The Association of Christian Counsellors and Linked Professions is a professional body representing and setting standards for Christian counselling and care in the UK. The organisation is made up of various different membership categories, including Counsellor and Accredited, and requires all members working as counsellors to undertake Continuous Professional Development on a regular basis.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

I usually charge £45 per hour, and £65 per hour and a half, but this is negotiable.
When I work
I generally work Tuesdays to Fridays. I offer both online and face to face sessions.
