About me

Hello, my name is Charlotte Precious and I am a person-centred counsellor and a member of the BACP.

It could be that you are reading my profile because you have a sense that something is wrong in your life but you just can't find the cause, or it may be that you know the source of your pain but that you have never felt able to talk about it or share it with another.  I can give you a warm welcoming, safe place where you can be heard and accepted and be able to explore the struggles which effect you.

I have experience in helping those who are struggling to cope with day to day life who may be grieving, feeling anxious or alone and unworthy or seek support to manage the long-term effects of traumatic experiences both in adulthood or childhood.

Asking for help can be the most difficult and at the same time the bravest thing you can do. By working together, we can build a relationship in which you know you are heard and understood, I know this works because I have seen and experienced the value of such a relationship.

Imagine being able to respond to your world in the way you choose and not be weighed down by pain and hurt.

I offer unlimited, hourly sessions both in person from my purpose built therapy room just off Willerby Road or remotely by Skype or Zoom. Call me for a free first chat and take those first steps to becoming the person you want to be today.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am fully qualified (Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling)

For a number of years, I have been a volunteer listener for the Samaritans and a bereavement support volunteer for Cruse. I also volunteer for a charity in Hull which provides therapeutic counselling to survivors of trauma and child abuse.

My particular experience is in working with grief and loss, and also the effects of traumatic experiences, this includes working with anxiety, self-harm, depression, drugs and alcohol problems, feeling stuck, unworthy, low self-esteem, domestic violence, sexual violence and suicidal thoughts and feelings.

I also have 30 years experience of working alongside adults with ADHD and Autism.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
