About me

Life can feel too much when you are juggling lots of different roles and you may feel as if you are weighed down by everything that you are carrying. This might leave you experiencing feelings of anxiety, stress, sadness or depression. Putting the needs of others before yourself at work, at home or both can be exhausting and a constant source of worry, negative thinking and conflicting feelings or emotions.

Maybe you are finding it hard to gain a work life balance.

Maybe this is causing relationship difficulties or family issues and affecting your ability to connect with others positively.

Perhaps you keep telling yourself that you should be managing better but are finding it hard to cope and can’t admit this to anyone.

I can provide you with a non-judgemental space and protected time where we can begin to unpack what you are carrying, and I can work with you to make changes and share tools and techniques to help you feel calmer and happier.

I work in a trauma-informed, person-centred way and through the relationship that we build I will offer compassion, curiosity and support so that you can gain clarity, develop strategies for self-regulation and be supported to develop healthy boundaries.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified integrative psychotherapist and my experience includes:

  • Current work as a trauma-informed therapist for a charity within an NHS commissioned service
  • Over 20 years of experience within the educational sector in various roles including as a teacher, senior leader and safeguarding lead
  • Supporting children and young people with additional needs and challenging behaviour and also supporting their families and carers to support them
  • Working therapeutically within the criminal justice system
  • Supporting individuals who are in a carers role

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
